The Wilderness Center’s Native Plant Sale features Ohio native plants. The plants that dominate home landscapes are very pretty but provide no benefits to local wildlife. In contrast, native plants are not only beautiful, but also support local wildlife. This year’s plant selection has grown to include recognized native plant cultivars for our region that provide significant benefits to our native pollinators and wildlife. This year make your garden functional as well as beautiful by incorporating native plants!
Not sure how to begin? Throughout the month of April, Native Plant Month, TWC with support from Terra Depot, is hosting our “Come Grow With Us” Speakers Series. We will be holding a few different educational speakers throughout the month. A few examples are; Restoring Ecological Services With Native Plants, with Jen Johnson from Native Roots, or Bugs, Birds, and Native Plants presented by guest speaker Megan Shoenfelt, our Native Plant Sale Partner, and owner of Terra Depot. Even hear from our staff experts, Adam Beichler, Director of Forestry, on The Harm of Exotic, Invasive Plants on our Ecosystem.
