Volunteer at Enchanted Forest!

On October 11 & 12, 2024, the trails of The Wilderness Center will be transformed into The Enchanted Forest! Creating this one-of-a-kind, educational, and entertaining event is possible thanks to the time and talents of dozens of dedicated volunteers. If you’ve helped with this event before, then you know how much fun it can be!

PUMPKIN CARVING

Help us carve the 100+ pumpkins into friendly jack-o-lanterns that line the Enchanted Forest Trail.

🎃 Pumpkin Carving will occur as a drop-in activity on Wednesday, October 9 & Thursday, October 10 between 12 and 4 pm.

WE NEED FIREFLIES!

We’re planning to welcome over 1,000 visitors to the Enchanted Forest, and we need your help to make the event a success! We are especially in need of Fireflies. The Firefly role is popular because, as a Firefly, you get to experience the magic of the Enchanted Forest!

• Fireflies carry a solar powered lantern and lead groups of attendees through the Enchanted Forest. Fireflies travel the Enchanted Forest trail with guests several times during the event.
• Enchanted Forest occurs outside rain or shine, so Fireflies should dress for the weather, consider dressing in layers, and wear shoes that are suitable for trail walking.  TWC provides a lightweight robe that Fireflies wear over their street clothes.
• Anyone aged 12-14 is encouraged to sign-up as Fireflies as long as they have an adult that can volunteer with them as well.  Anyone over 14 can sign up as long as they feel confident to help. All volunteers under 18 will need to have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
• Volunteering for the Enchanted Forest is especially fun to do with a friend! Please feel free to share this opportunity with friends and family by encouraging others to register to volunteer with you!

WHEN WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A FIREFLY?

Volunteering for Enchanted Forest is a great way to meet other TWC volunteers.

We’ll have food and beverages for volunteers available at 5:30 pm on Saturday and Friday. This is a fun time to visit with other volunteers before the evening event or after the Saturday afternoon event.

🦉 The Friday evening shift runs 6:00 – approximately 10:00 pm

🍁 The Saturday evening shift runs 6:00 – approximately 10:00 pm

Choose your preferred shift when you register to volunteer online.

If your availability is different, then please contact me and let me know. These shifts are somewhat flexible and we’re grateful for your help!
