A dark sky is an important part of our environment and must be preserved through appropriate conservation practices. Outdoor lighting disrupts wildlife, impacts human health, wastes money and energy, contributes to climate change, and blocks our view of the universe. In this Presentation/demonstration, learn what the different types of light pollution are, the differences between unshielded and fully shielded fixtures, and why color temperature and lumens of the lamps used matter. Dark skies start at home. Light pollution is one pollution each of us can do something about. Come and be inspired to make your home dark sky friendly.
