On the darkest night of the month, the stars still shine big and bright over TWC (fingers-crossed)! Join us for an evening exploring the cold, clear winter landscape with a special focus on the night sky full of winter phenomena overhead. We’ll start inside with a Tonight’s Sky planetarium show and then bundle up for a star-watching, breath-taking hike.
Planetarium: Tonight’s Sky
Take a tour of the winter night sky with Robin, our Astronomy Education Specialist. Learn what constellations and bright stars are in the night sky this time of year and what planets we can see. Experience some of the incredible deep sky objects this sky has to offer, including the Orion Nebula, Andromeda galaxy, the Pleiades, and more. And hear some star stories along the way! Come, be inspired, and enjoy the wonders of the night sky.
- Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before the show starts.
- PLEASE NOTE: For safety reasons, there is no late entry into the planetarium once the door is closed. No refund will be provided to registrants who arrive after the door is closed.
Terrain: up to 1.5 miles; on gravel, grass, and sloped trails; slow pace with limited visibility (red flashlights provided!). Weather appropriate attire and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
