Members’ Only Guided Hike at Doughty Gorge

Doughty Gorge is a 93-acre preserve located near Charm, OH in Holmes County and is one of The Wilderness Center’s most pristine habitats across all our landholdings. The bulk of TWC’s Doughty Gorge preserve was donated to The Wilderness Center in 1972 by Roy Keim and a smaller 13-acre parcel was purchased in 1998. Filled with mature eastern hemlock (Tsuga canadensis), white oak (Quercus alba), and American beech (Fagus grandifolia) in the overstory, nearly 160 plant species and 41 fish species have been identified at this truly exquisite property.
