Join The Wilderness Center for a new, family-friendly evening summer event to celebrate our shining friends, fireflies! Explore the magical world of fireflies and other nightly creatures, combining education, hands-on activities, and flashes of fun!
🎵 Enjoy Stories and Campfire Songs, and Make & Take Crafts, while supplies last.
✨ Catch the ticketed Planetarium Show: The Cowboy Astronomer with showtimes at 5:00 PM & 7:00 PM
📸 Learn how you can protect fireflies through Backyard Habitat Initiatives. Small changes can make a big difference! Then take a selfie with a Firefly from TWC’s Enchanted Forest.
🥾 Explore our trails at dusk on your own or join a member of our Conservation Team on an Evening Hike.
🔥 Complimentary S’Mores Kits to roast a marshmallow over the fire.
🌳 Contribute to Citizen Science and discover with us which TWC habitats are most favored by fireflies.
🤝 We’re partnering with Lacey PAC and Adaptive Movement Center for engaging performances and welcoming other community-focused nonprofits to become involved too.
Food will be available for purchase from local food truck Blue Moon Bistro and Creamy Classics LLC.
🖌 Face painting for additional fee from Makin Faces LLC.
🤩 Inflatables for additional fee.

Firefly Festival is a fundraiser supporting The Wilderness Center’s mission through nature, conservation, and education initiatives. We are excited for Firefly Festival to become a new annual tradition for families and wilderness friends throughout the region.
