Our Land Steward, Zac, has uncovered yet another significant dumpsite, and we need your support! For years, illegal dumping has plagued this area, leaving behind an alarming mix of tires, appliances, cars, and general waste. This debris is not just unsightly; it’s leaching harmful chemicals into our waterways, threatening our land, air, and water quality.

To make matters worse, this dumpsite is situated right next to a secluded forested pond and wetland—critical habitats that provide food and water for countless animals. These areas are vital breeding grounds for frogs, toads, salamanders, and many bird species.

We have built a bridge and blazed a trail to the area; Zac will supply all the tools, drinks, and snacks— all we need is YOU!

As summer comes to a close, the cool crisp air, vibrant forests, and breezy prairies of fall are an exciting time to get outside and volunteer! Come join our Land Steward, Zac Justus, as we explore what being a good steward of our natural areas is all about. Through stewardship, we will work to protect and care for our land, water, and air in a series of volunteer challenges. Together we will clean up our waterways, remove invasive plants, collect native seeds, plant trees at a restoration site, create habitat, remove thousands of pounds of trash, and repair an eroding streambank.

Those who rise to the challenge by volunteering 15 hours of their time across all events will receive recognition in our quarterly newsletter and some TWC swag to show our appreciation. Even showing up for a single event has a huge impact and we will be thrilled to have you join us whenever you can!

So grab your hiking boots and let’s go have some fun in the woods! All the equipment, gloves, and tools will be provided by TWC and each event will be guided by our Land Steward, Zac.

Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is appreciated to help with planning.
