Building on restoration work from last year’s Fall Stewardship Challenge, this project continues to strengthen Fox Creek’s banks with deep-rooted native vegetation like willows and dogwoods. These plantings help hold soil in place, filter runoff, and create a shaded, cooler environment that benefits aquatic life.
The expanding riparian buffer will provide food and shelter for amphibians, pollinators, and birds while reinforcing bank stability and enhancing habitat connectivity along the creek. Each planting season adds layers of resilience, bringing this restored waterway closer to a fully self-sustaining ecosystem.
All tools and plants will be provided. Wear sturdy footwear and be prepared for work along uneven, sometimes muddy terrain.
