Join us as we unveil a selection of artworks created by celebrated nature artist, Dot Barlowe. As a highly successful free-lance illustrator, Dorothea Barlowe’s work has appeared in numerous books, magazines, newspapers, and scientific journals throughout the world. Having written and illustrated the highly acclaimed book, Illustrating Nature, she was an instructor at the Parsons School of Design where she taught courses on how to illustrate nature and botany.  Barlowe was an Ohio-based artist, and we’re delighted that TWC was gifted the majority of her work.

You may be familiar with a display in our Interpretive Building that includes information about Dot Barlowe and highlights her Backyard Nature coloring book. We’re pleased that our first-ever exhibition, Dot Barlowe: Incredible Insects expands our ability to represent of her work.

We’re thrilled to share her art with you!

Dot Barlowe: Incredible Insects opens to the public Friday, March 14th. The day will include insect-related activities led by TWC’s Education Team.
