Join us for a night hike that doubles as a community science project! Tonight, we’ll learn how to identify frog vocalizations, then hike around TWC’s wetlands, collecting data on our native toads and frog populations.
These amphibians play an important role in wetland ecosystems. Spring monitoring programs use their mating calls to track populations and inform conservation management decisions.
This program is recommended for ages 7 and up, as we will be around water. Terrain: up to 1.5 miles; on wet, gravel, grass, and sloped trails; slow pace with limited visibility (red flashlights provided!). Weather-appropriate attire and comfortable, waterproof walking shoes are recommended.
