Curiosity and observation are core elements of science. TWC is an incredible outdoor classroom where homeschool students can explore their environment, conduct hands-on investigations, and follow their curiosity with support from our naturalists and their peers. This program aims to foster inquiry skills, creativity, and community-building through nature exploration and fun!
Animal Tracks and Signs Exploration
Learning basic tracking skills can open up a world of intrigue and mystery! Today, students will use observation skills to notice evidence of animals living at TWC and follow animal paths to new discoveries. Students will engage in key science practices as they share explanations for the animal signs they find and compare and evaluate explanations based on the strength of evidence.
Students will:
- Use evidence to make explanations about animals in the area.
- Critique and compare explanations through scientific discussion.
- Learn and apply basic tracking skills.
Open to ages 9 and up, this program has limited capacity. All active participants must register.
