On April 8, 2024, everyone in the continental U.S. will be treated to a solar eclipse. Much of Ohio is in the path of totality which means if you’re within this path you will see a total solar eclipse. Those outside the path of totality will see only a partial eclipse, how partial depends on how far away you are from the path of totality. Join our Astronomy Education Specialist Robin as she shares with you where the path of totality is, why eclipses happen, and how to safely view this eclipse. Total solar eclipses are rare and beautiful phenomena. We won’t see another solar eclipse cross the U.S. until the year 2045 so you don’t want to miss this one!
If you want to learn more about solar eclipses and solar eclipse history come to the planetarium show “Totality” after this presentation. Description and registration for the planetarium show is on the website.
