Family Programs
One of the most important gifts we can give our children is a love of nature and the outdoors. Give this gift to your child when you visit The Wilderness Center and participate in one of the many opportunities we have available. TWC programs are designed to take advantage of a young child's inquisitive mind and, along with your guidance, their sense of wonder to explore the world around them.

Storytime Sprouts is an early childhood program for children 2-6 years old. We learn about many different nature topics with fun stories, songs, and games!
Nature Explorers is a new 3-7 year old seasonal program with games, hikes, and learning in nature!

Junior Naturalist is designed for young nature enthusiasts ages 7-10 with a focus on the many aspects of nature such as pollinators, conservation, mammals, freshwater ecosystems, and more!
Environmental Investigators is geared for ages 8-12, but can also be great for family outside of that age range. Learn in nature with exploration hikes, games, and more!
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be an animal keeper? This program offers the experience of caring for our ambassador reptiles! Animal Keeper for a Day is open to ages 9 and up.
Saturday Creature Feature is full of family-friendly fun! Meet a TWC ambassador animal at this free program.
Planetarium Shows take place in our Astronomy Building & Observatory onsite at our headquarters. There are many different topics and themes, along with some seasonal favorites like Season of Light!
