Nature Playscape

TWC's Nature Playscape is a playground built of natural materials that encourages children to use their imaginations and construct their own play. During Playscape Playdates a TWC naturalist will visit the Playscape for a few hours with additional materials to spark creativity and engage the inquisitive nature of children. The Nature Playscape is open daily, dawn to dusk, and features a large patio for adults to observe children, kids to take a break, and families to congregate.

Zoar Woods

Driving Directions:  Take County Rd. 82 south from Zoar or north from Dover. Turn west on Township Road 380 (Blacksnake Hill Rd.). At the fork, stay right to continue on Ruslin Hills Rd. The parking area will be 1/2 mile west of the fork on your right.

Doughty Gorge

Doughty Gorge is open to TWC members only, and is a 93-acre preserve located near Charm, OH in Holmes County and is one of The Wilderness Center’s most pristine habitats across all our landholdings. Filled with mature eastern hemlock, white oak, and American beech in the overstory, nearly 160 plant species and 41 fish species have been identified at this truly exquisite property. You can bring your furry friend for a hike here, too!
