Representatives From Community Organizations Support 2020 Enchanted Forest Program

The Wilderness Center’s annual
Enchanted Forest program will take place online October 9 & 10 at 7:00 p.m. Families are invited to drop-in on Mother Nature and her Forest Staff meeting. The night shift will give updates on their ‘department’ of the forest, sharing jokes, songs and educational stories to teach families about night life in the woods.

The Wilderness Center is proud to announce that this year’s Enchanted Forest has been made possible through participation and collaboration with like-minded organizations. This year, thanks to the generous support of PNC, The Wilderness Center has partnered with other community-based organizations to offer the Enchanted Forest program free to families in need. Through this effort, we hope to promote family health and well-being and foster a love of nature.

This year’s Enchanted Forest characters are being played by TWC friends and colleagues invested in nature-based education. John Lorson of the Holmes Soil & Water Conservation District will delight as the smart, slimy Slug. Kristie Shoulders from Wooster Township Elementary in the Triway Local School District is the world’s best marsupial momma, Opossum.
Michelle Cerino, managing editor of Women’s Outdoor News, will bring the social media queen, Crayfish (@crayfishyayfish), to the live stream flowing into living rooms throughout the region. Jamey Emmert of the Ohio Division of Wildlife will play the super-zen Salamander, man. Dirt….er, Soil….will be played by Chair of the Wayne County Park District, Denny Jordan. Jason Larson, executive director of the Gorman Nature Center of Richland County Park District, will reprise his role as the long-time favorite character P. Nutty the rapping Flying Squirrel!
